SUGEN Meeting in Walldorf November 2024

Three days of Sharing, Learning, Growing as SAP User Group Community.

Report by Ronald Schippers

This week Richard van der Laan and myself as representatives of VNSG visited SAP headquarters in Walldorf, Germany.
SAP User Group Executive Network (SUGEN) November came together with representatives of twenty-two SAP user groups from all over the world to share best practices, meet and discuss with SAP leadership.

On day one
we focused on Best Practices. VNSG shared and learned about "increasing member engagement" and "user group board member involvement". It was my great pleasure to cohost this day with Amanda Gibbs, CEO of African SAP User Group (AFSUG).

In the evening we had a great get together with the SAP Global User Group Organization (GUGO) team. GUGO is our user group representation within SAP.

Together we enjoyed a warm Glühwein at the Christmas Market in Heidelberg and we went for a nice dinner.

On day two
we started with Yasmin Awad who updated us about GUGO developments. This interesting session was followed by an open and candid conversation with Thomas Saueressig.

The networking marketplace sessions facilitated us to dive deeper into SAP4ME and AI use cases. After this we had an insightful exchange on the SAP Business Technology Platform with Steffen Schad.

On day three
we continued with very interesting exchanges on the Enterprise Architect support of SAP within RISE presented by Thomas Pfiester and we had cool strategy exchanges on AI, Customer Experience, Security & Compliance and Sovereign Cloud developments at SAP.

Yasmin Awad and team: thank you for these valuable three days, your positive energy and engagement and thank you SUGEN colleagues for spending this time together, knowing the investment you are making to travel from all over the world to Germany to connect, share and learn together!!
